Meet the Students #4

Hi everyone! I'm Monica Saigal, I draw in my free time and doodle during class.
Through my art work I am able to journey back to that moment in the past, away from this hurried world and into those open spaces that are quickly disappearing.
On this planet, people communicate with words, but an artist communicates through the language of art. It is easy to make a formal analysis of the work and to position it in the great and diverse continuum of contemporary painting. Yet, it is my belief that the painting must do its work from a more subversive place, a place familiar yet enigmatic, known but unknown.
Whenever I begin a new piece of work I arrive with my brush and heart in hand. With my imagination as my guide, I take what I see in this place and make it my own. I am not ruled by what is real. It is the bold and vibrant colours, packed with their emotionally charged energy, that lift me and move me in the direction that I need to go. I respond to them as they do to each other and together we head off.
Check out some of my art!

Meet the Students #3

Hi! I'm Rabiya.
I''m a budding writer and I write about nature, friends, life and various other elements of life on which my brain can have its hold. Everyone can relate to how annoying it is when you're struggling to recall all those ideas and thoughts that just flooded your mind last night, but seem to have taken wings and flown away. You are not able to gather even one-fourth of them!
It's almost half as annoying as the moment when something critical is going to happen in a horror movie you are watching and the commercial suddenly breaks in.
Anyway. Enough ranting.
You can see more of my work on my blog: www.dewdropsinmyhand.blogspot.in
Here is one of my poems:
                                                                  Eternal Silence

Crouched with fear, eyes flooded with tears.
Eclipsed with silence beneath the shroud,
Yet worse, some rest exhibited on the red, stained ground.
Uncovered,Unmasked
Their wounds mutely speak, begging for their graves to be dug,
But silenced by the incessant sound of a gunshot,
Heard even with the earmuffs on.

The white, that as serene as the mountains in winter,
Was festooned with their blood.
Yelps of helplessness,
Yelps of pain,
Heard one from the innocent child, whose eyes
As they dreaded the eternal loss,
Yearning for death as they believe, the silence of death to be,
Still better, than the silence caused by the pain,
Of being bitten by the cold, orphaned, all alone.

And she,who had thought to be fortunate to have found,
The one whom she loved dearly,
To whom belonged her destiny.
Proved wrong, now jinxed as she thought she was,
As he was cut before her eyes, his blood stained the white snow.
Her heart, that was pounding too fast,
Abruptly did it get tired, but why,
She kneeled, shivering, could do nothing but cry.
For whatever did god give above,
Was snatched savagely from her,
Given to her by her love.

And they, who sat in a corner so still,
Their lips moved constantly in inaudible prayer,
"Hope for life, Hope for all." as gasped one of them,
Was interrupted by a sudden bullet,
That penetrated right through his chest.
Said the other, sadly happy, who too was just shot,
"Alas! No more pain, No more suffering, We all can forever rest."

Meet the Students #2

Hello everyone! I'm Arshya Mandhar, a proud student of class 11- C (and officially now a part of the legen-wait for it-dary blog!)
I'm a photographer who is still exploring and sees the world through the camera lens. Photography is all about capturing the best of everything? No, it's about making the best of everything. Its about perception and art and lighting and composition but most of all its focus (pun intended) is passion. It's not about what you see its about how you see it. You can fall in love with Photography...why? Because the satisfaction you get after capturing a perfect shot not only makes you feel complete and content but you also get to see the world with a completely different perspective. It's not all about the camera it's about passion and that fire that warms up your soul when you click that button and capture one moment, just that one moment, you know that would never come back again. Hey, anyone can be a photographer but it takes practice, experimenting and loads of sunblock. So if you're willing to give your camera a chance to show you the world of pixels... Start clicking!
I also have my own photography blog which you can visit-
Feel free to comment below and follow my blog!

Meet the Students

Picasso? M.F. Hussain? This girl has them all beat. Meet Meghna Sharma, 16 years old, artist extraordinaire.
All colours ranging from black to white, red to green, brown to yellow have the power to light our soul, bring joy and to plant a fire to discover more. It is this beauty of colours that has always attracted Meghna Sharma to develop her passion to play with colours and paint a beautiful masterpiece on the wall.
Art seeks joy in escaping from reality and letting your mind run free into the world of imagination. This escape helps her to relax time and again from her daily schedule.
She’s been a school representative for various art competitions and has many wins in her stride. She has a silver medal in a national level art competition and was declared the best artist in a workshop organised by M.A.D a popular television programme .
Check out some of her masterpieces.

An Introduction

Class 11- C is the Humanities section at Carmel Convent School, and undoubtedly the most talented class too. On this blog, you shall meet some of the smartest, most radical and opinionated students. Also, they are quite lazy, crib like old people and are never satisfied until they get their way.
Here you can see the first class cabinet with the class teacher, Mrs. Nilofer Masih.
The girls take an informal class photograph on Teacher's Day.
